I have heard that Saint Ann School offers quality academics. Can you give me some evidence of academic excellence at the school?
I’m consistently amazed at how high the bar is set for the students at Saint Ann School. Learning that our students achieve the highest test scores in the district certainly confirms that academic expectations are important. Having a National Honor Society for both the elementary and junior high school students gives the younger students something for which to strive. Furthermore, you can’t walk the halls without seeing the students working on laptops and the SMARTBoard. Our students are engaged and challenged, and both parents and teachers support that learning. Saint Ann Parish has an excellent religious education program for families that do not attend the school. What more will my child receive in terms of faith and spiritual development, if I choose to send him to the school?
Spiritual clarity and social responsibility guide many daily activities at the school. Every morning starts with prayer, monthly masses led in turn by different grades, special prayer services and performances around holidays, and school-wide community service projects are just some of the ways that faith and spirituality are developed. This school year's theme is “Grow in the grace of Jesus. (Cindy Y., mother of one student)
My wife and I are looking for a school that will support our efforts at home to raise our child with good values and morals. How will Saint Ann School support us in this effort?
Saint Ann School stresses the importance of kindness and respect towards one another on a daily basis. I was very impressed with the maturity and polite manners expressed by our student tour guide when we looked at the school and continue to be impressed by the quality of the students I interact with when I am at the school. The older students tend to “look out” for the younger students and are paired off together in groups occasionally when the school does special shadowing events. (Cindy Y., mother of one student)
As a mother, I am really concerned about the safety of my child at school. Can you tell me if Saint Ann School offers a safe and loving environment?
I was very concerned about my child entering Kindergarten. He knew virtually none of the kids (two he had met over the summer). I knew NONE of the parents. I was worried that he would just blend in and not be noticed. What I didn't know was that this school is small enough that someone knows him. From his teachers to the lunch ladies, someone knows him. I feel like I know about 80% of the kids and if I don't know their name, I know they go to Saint Ann School. To me that is HUGE. I have heard time and time again how parents at other schools are disappointed that their children are not known. It is also nice to have parents in the school volunteering. If you aren't in the school much this is a nice bonus to have. It's kind of a cooperative feeling. We are all here to help our children succeed. (Amy F., mother of two students)
I am trying to choose between sending my child to the local public school and Saint Ann School, can you tell me why I should choose Saint Ann School?
Even though Saint Ann School was the parish in which I grew up, I went through the public schools, so Catholic education is new for me. I was ready to start the girls at Coventry Elementary (before it closed) purely to save money. My husband and I went over all sorts of aspects in choosing a neighborhood school for our children (taxes, tuition, uniforms, distance, safety) and what really sealed the deal for us was that we would be with "like minded parents.” I enjoy being with other families that have the same expectations of their children and am comfortable knowing that our girls will be surrounded in school by people with strong values.
